James McPherson

James Edward McPherson, 62, passed away at 3:37 am on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on November 20, 1960 in  St. Louis, MO to Robert and Frances C. (Albrecht) McPherson .

He married Rebecca Wooff on May 28, 2011 in St. Louis, MO. She survives.

James trained at Le Cordon Bleu. He was a chef who specifically enjoyed creating sauces. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Alton. He enjoyed being with his family and dogs, traveling, gardening, and old westerns.

James is survived by his spouse, Rebecca (Wooff) McPherson; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi & Adam Main; brothers and sisters, Tom McPherson, Robert McPherson, Theresa (Tim) Lesicko, Paul McPherson, and Karen Kovac; grandchildren, Tamarah (Aaron) Brooks, Samantha (Xavier) Williams Sr., Derrick (Desirae) Herrick, and Isabella Parker; and seven great-grandchildren, who called him "Poppa Jim". He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Needra (Richard) Fulk, Beverly Reed, Matsuko Wooff, and Jane (Fred) Milligan, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances, and brother-in-law, Marc Kovac.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Alton with Jim Baron officiating.

Private inurnment will take place at Valhalla Memorial Park.
