
Jason Wayne Sitzes, 51, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 9:33 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
Born March 19, 1974, in Granite City, Illinois, Jason married Andrea Beth (Connolly) Sitzes on June 12, 2021, in Granite City, Illinois. They shared 13 years of wonderful memories together.
Jason dedicated his life to serving others. He was currently employed as a telecommunicator with the Granite City Police Department, where he had served for two years and previously for the Madison Police Department. He had proudly worked as a paramedic for 12 years with MedStar Ambulance and for several years with Abbott EMS. He was also a retired firefighter with the Long Lake Fire Department, giving more than 20 years of dedicated service.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City and always had his family as the center of his life. He was a loving husband, devoted dad and proud papa who enjoyed many special times throughout the years. He loved coaching softball and teaching many girls the skills in playing ball. He also enjoyed his days of traveling, fishing, hunting, listening to his 80’s genre of music and always ready for good times with family and friends.
In addition to his cherished wife, he is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Diane Lane of Edwardsville, Sydnie Nicole Sitzes of Granite City and Aleah Crenshaw of Granite City; two grandchildren, Rylie Christina Tellor and Charlie Jason Lane; mother, Linda Jean (Hooker) Curless of Wood River; father, Wayne Francis Sitzes of Collinsville; grandmother, Edna Miller of Rose Bud, Missouri; brother, Mark Constant of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Crystal (David) Huppert of Wood River; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Timothy and Jennifer Connolly of Granite City; nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Jeffery Curless; grandmother, Naomi Bush and great grandmother, Alvinette Metcalf.
In celebration of his life, a visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A pass and review will honor him at 6:00 p.m. by several departments and agencies. A funeral service will follow.
