Jeffrey Schanuel

Jeffrey Lee Schanuel, 68, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, August 3, 1957, in St. Louis, MO, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. Paul’s extended care in Belleville, IL.

Jeff graduated from Belleville High School West in 1975 and earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois-Urbana in 1979. He was a certified civil engineer (P.E.) having worked as a senior engineer for Parsons Brinkerhoff working on the MetroLink land acquisition project. He was a member and elder of First United Presbyterian Church of Belleville and a member of the Sand Dollar life group, holding several offices. He loved hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, growing tomatoes and in his early years rock climbing and fishing.

Visitation: Visitation from 10:00 am -11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the First United Presbyterian Church Chapel in Belleville, IL.

Celebration of life: Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the First United Presbyterian Church Chapel with the Rev. F. James Friedewald officiating. Private family Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
