Jerome Stein

Jerome "Jerry" Joseph Stein, 83, went to be with the Lord, October 23, 2026 at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

Born June 28, 1943 in Golden Eagle, he was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Kary) Stein.

He had worked as a clerk at Laclede Steel in Alton for many years before retiring in 1999.

On September 24, 1978 in Roxana, Jerry married Carroll Darlene Haas. She survives.

Surviving also are three sons, Mike Stein of White Hall, Dennis (Ronna) Haas of Wood River, William "Bill" (Stacey) Haas of East Alton; a daughter, Denise Stauffer of Wood River; and several grand and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathi Haas; and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Wednesday, October 28 at Bethalto Church of God, 800 E. Bethalto Dr., Bethalto, IL. Pastor Jacob Skelton will officiate.

Private burial will be in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

Memorials are suggested to the Opal Lloyd Youth Group Fund at Bethalto Church of God.
