Jerry Howland

Jerry Edward Howland, 86, passed away at 1:26 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Jerseyville Manor.

He was born on May 19, 1940, in Mozier, Illinois, one of three sons born to the late Elza and Lillian (Martin) Howland.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting in 1963 and serving until his honorable discharge in 1965.

He married the former Glenda Willenburg, and their marriage was blessed with two children. He later married Carol Sue Fox, and through their marriage, his family grew to include two additional daughters. Jerry and Carol shared 48 years of marriage before her passing on December 7, 2025.

Jerry spent his working years as an electrician at Laclede Steel, where he remained employed until his retirement.

Surviving are his four children, Terri (Brian) White of Jerseyville, Darin Howland of Carrollton, Tina (Steve) Helmsing of St. Louis, Missouri, and Patti Cochran of Sumner; five grandchildren, Kelsey, Trent, Christy, Shawn and Ashley; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Howland of Carrollton.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Carol, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Barb Howland.

In accordance with Jerry's wishes, no services will be held.

Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville has been entrusted with arrangements.
