Jerry Sr

Jerry Lee Caito Sr., 71, of Alton, IL, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wed. Dec. 18, 2019, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

 He was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Alton to the late Doris West and Johnny Caito.

Jerry was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked as a forklift operator for Olin until his retirement.  He loved gardening and yardwork and just being outdoors scavenging.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. 

On Mar. 14, 1970, he and Dorothy M. Mayberry were married in Alton. She survives in Alton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Tonia (Rick) Smith of South Roxana, IL and Melissa Caito of Alton; 2 sons: Gary Caito of East Alton, IL and Jerry Lee (Holly) Caito Jr. of Alton; and 10 grandchildren: Christopher Caito, Madyson Caito, Ryan Caito, Nicohlas Caito, Jacob Caito, Cora Caito, Arianna Hall, Serena Caito, Kayla Hall and Dominic Hall.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his infant twin brother.
