John Thomas “J.T.” Miller, age 76, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 3:21 a.m. at Waverly Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Waverly, Tennessee.
He was born on March 23, 1940 in Alton, IL to the late Loren L. and Catherine Nellie (Cook) Miller.
J.T. married Shirley (Parker) on December 4, 1959 in Bethalto, IL. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2007, he then married Janice (Darr) on December 17, 2010 in Keokuk, Iowa, She survives.
He worked at Community Wholesale Tire in St. Louis Missouri for 46 years until his retirement in 2010. J.T. was part owner of the company, serving as Vice President
of Sales. J.T.’s efforts were instrumental to the success of Community Wholesale Tire where he was greatly respected and held in high regards by his fellow employees, suppliers and customers. J.T. was a friend and supporter to all. He was a great person and a pillar to the River Bend Community. He was the police commissioner for 35 years in Bethalto. His greatest joy was spending time with his dog, Snowy, family and grandchildren.
J.T. is also survived by his three children and their spouses; Cindy and Bill Trosley of Bethalto, IL, Michael Miller and his companion Alisha Richardson of South Roxana, IL, and Richard and Debbie Miller of Bethalto, IL, and four grandchildren; Cody and spouse, Callie, and Alaina Trosley, and Jennifer and Benjamin Miller, special cousins, Marge Ducommun, Sandi Roberson, and Bill and Suzanne Taulli, and his best friends; Homer and Susan Henke of Bethalto, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shirley.
Services will be private.
