Jonathan Joseph Kettelhake, 36, of Alton, passed away unexpectedly at 7:40 pm Saturday November 4, 2017 at home.He was born January 12, 1981 in Alton, the son of Joseph F. and Theresa A (Disher) Kettelhake.Jon was an Assistant Manager at Arby’s while going back to school, working on an engineering degree. In high school he was a member of Alton’s Marching 100 and the high school concert band where he played the saxophone. He also received a national physics award and was published in The Who’s Who List of American High Schools. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Blues and Miami Dolphins.He is survived by both of his parents, Joe Kettelhake of Alton and Theresa Kettelhake and her husband Tim Wiemers of Bethalto; a brother Justin Kettelhake and his fiancé Stephanie Bertschinger; a sister Mackenzie Kettelhake and her fiancé Kyle Chronister; a niece Kira Chronister; a nephew Devon Kettelhake; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Richard E. and Stephanie Disher of Alton, IL and paternal grandparents Joseph H. and Joyce Kettelhake of Miami, FL; an Aunt Joyce von Szilassy.Visitation will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4pm to 8 pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11 am at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.A private family burial will be held a Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto at a later date.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
