Joseph Wayne "Joe" Stumph, 71, of Dorsey, IL, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Friday, October 16, 2026, at home. He was born on October 26, 1954, to the late Wayne Julius and Marilyn Elizabeth, nee Millecker, Stumph. He married the former Joyce Lynn Loiseau on November 26, 1977, at the Church of God in Cahokia, IL; she survives.

Joe proudly served his country as a field artillery parachutist in the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army from 1973 until 1975. In retirement, he worked as a fraud investigator for Union Planters and Regions Banks, then ended his career as a worker’s comp investigator with the State of Illinois, retiring permanently in 2015.

Joe was a member of Bethalto Church of God, serving on the safety team for many years, and a member of the Metro Volkswagen Club for the last 30 years. He was a gregarious man and leaves behind countless friends. He loved Volkswagens, splitting firewood, traveling with Joyce in their RV, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
