Joyce Curry

Joyce Marie Curry, 77, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Born May 7, 1949 in Kennett, MO, she was a daughter of Harold and Lorraine (Wethington) Hampton.

She married Jerry A. “Jay” Curry Aug. 22, 1969.  He passed away Feb. 27, 2026.

Joyce retired from St. Anthony’s Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She enjoyed shopping with her granddaughters and was known for her unique way of being brutally honest and direct, often referred to as “spicy”.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kristin Lorraine Curry and her two daughters, Makaylyn Marie Morris and Henley Jae Morris and Kristin’s loving partner and dear friend to the family, Eric Miller; her brothers John (Jan) Hampton, Greg (Faith) Hampton, and Bobby (Teresa) Hinthorne; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Hampton and Lura Hampton; a brother-in-law, Frank Cerutti; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marilyn Ohley-Stemm, Karen Hinthorne, and Linda Cerutti; and two brothers, Donald and Wayne “Corky” Hampton.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
