Joydell Hedger

Joydell “Joy” Hedger, 89, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital. 

Born February 7, 1936 in Arkansas, she was the daughter of William Robert and Cynthia (Gates) Jones.She retired as a buyer for Alton Memorial Hospital. 

On June 9, 1956, she married JC Dean Hedger in Alton.He preceded her in death on February 19, 2010. 

Surviving are two sons, Patrick Hedger (Kathy) and Michael Hedger, five grandchildren, Matthew Hedger (Monica), Daniel Hedger, Jolene Hedger, Doug Hedger, and Jacy Hedger, and one great grandchild, William Hedger. 

Graveside services will be private at Upper Alton Cemetery.Memorials may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
