Karen Boliard

Karen S. (Marques) Boliard, 81, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and vibrant love.

For almost 60 beautiful years, Karen was the loving and faithful wife of Otha E. Boliard. Together, they built a life entirely centered around the family they adored. As a dedicated housewife, Karen poured her heart into making her home a sanctuary of warmth. She was the incredibly proud mother of her oldest son, Matthew Boliard, and her twins, Tammy Raymond and Timothy Boliard—never missing a chance to playfully remind everyone that Timothy was the youngest by just nine minutes.

Karen’s heart was as big as the Western skies she loved to explore. A truly kind and giving soul, she found immense joy in helping those in need and bringing comfort to others, an extension of love that always included animals. She brought magic to the holidays by always picking names off local Christmas giving trees, purchasing every item the children needed or wanted, and making sure to include a few extra surprises. To ensure no family had to say goodbye to a beloved pet due to financial hardship, Karen also frequently donated money to an animal clinic to cover veterinary costs for people who didn't have the funds to help their own furry loved ones.

She possessed a deep appreciation for the quiet beauty of nature, whether she was bird-watching or embarking on adventures out west. Her absolute favorite journey was to the breathtaking landscapes of Glacier National Park. Karen's warm and radiant spirit was perfectly reflected in her favorite color, bright orange, a hue that perfectly matched the energy and love she brought to everyone around her.

Above all, Karen’s greatest treasures were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every single moment spent playing, laughing, and creating memories with them.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Otha; her children, Matthew Boliard, Tammy Raymond and her husband James, and Timothy Boliard; her beloved grandchildren, Breeann Steinacher and her husband Ryan, and Ryan Raymond and his wife Kaitlyn; her precious great-grandchildren, Amelia Steinacher, Levi Raymond, and Layla Raymond; her cherished fur-baby, Heidi Sue; and many extended family members, friends, and the countless lives—both human and animal—brightened by her presence.
