Karen St. Peters

Karen L. St. Peters, 74, died at 12:02 pm Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.

She was born January 2, 1949, in Alton, Illinois to Charles W. and Dorothy E. Bligh (Gannon.) Karen graduated from Marquette High School (1967), Southern Illinois University Edwardsville B.A. (1971) and University of St. Francis – Master of Science - Health Services Administration (1998). She was a Registered Nurse (RN). She worked at the VA – St. Louis and OSF Saint Anthony’s Health Center – Alton. Karen was the eldest of three children (Richard and Gail.) On June 24, 1978, she married Robert B. St. Peters and had two children (Brendan and Brian). Karen enjoyed reading, murder mysteries and shopping. She always had her hair and nails done to perfection and wore stylish clothes. Most of all, she enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was well respected and loved by many. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and grandparents. She is survived by her children Brendan (Krista) St. Peters and Brian St. Peters. Also surviving are her siblings, Dr. Richard (Cindy) Bligh, and Gail (Paul) Self. She will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren Sophia, Charlie, Gavin, Savannah, Mason, Kaylie and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. There will also be a celebration of life for Robert B.
