Kathy Nodine

Kathy Lea Nodine, 68, of Brighton, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born on February 7, 1958, in Belleville, the daughter of Joyce (Clausen) McCombs and Loren Nodine.

Kathy retired from Madison County Sherrif’s Office as a Jailer in January of 2026. She was an avid animal lover, always raising and caring for animals of all kinds.

She is survived by her mother Joyce McCombs; son James (Jessica) Fowler of Godfrey; eight grandchildren, Alex (Abbie), Jacob (Juliette), Olivia, Jamie, Jace, Kaleb, Natalie, and Jaxon; one great grandchild due in 2027; two sisters, Nancy (Michael) Hassert and Cindy (Albert) Morgan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father Loren Nodine; fiancé Keith Stecher; sons, Jeremy and Jason Fowler; brother Larry Nodine.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral service at noon on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Burial will follow at Miles Station Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to 5 A’s Animal Shelter in Alton.
