Kelly Schneider, nee Klohr, 65, of Belleville, IL, born July 14, 1960, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, January 30, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Kelly, whose compassion touched everyone around her, was a kind, loving, and endlessly caring mother, daughter, wife, and friend. She had a special gift for making others feel seen and supported, and her presence brought comfort in even the most difficult moments. She was also the best dog mom in the world and her deep love for animals was a beautiful and defining part of who she was.
Kelly's life was a testament to resilience, hope, and the power of recovery. She was a proud and beyond grateful member and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous. Kelly offered unwavering support, wisdom, and a listening ear, and ultimately in her role as sponsor, led many to find their own path to sobriety and to full, meaningful lives. Above all, Kelly lived with a generous heart, a fierce love for her family, and a spirit that will be forever missed and remembered.
"In as much as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren you have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40), a verse that beautifully captures the heart of Kelly’s life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Larry W. Schneider, whom she married on March 24, 1984, and who died on January 19, 2024; her son, Matthew Schneider; and her sister, Karen (Shelton) Etter.
Surviving are her parents, Dale and Carol, nee Burdick, Klohr; two sisters-in-law, Peggy (Robert) Maupin and Charlotte Lehr; a brother-in-law, Carl Schneider; her nephew, John Reiling; and many friends, family, and loved ones.
