Kenneth J. Jonff, age 77, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Keystone Place at Magnolia Commons in Glen Carbon, IL.
Ken was born on May 21, 1948, in East St. Louis, IL, the son of the late Boris & Marion (Nichols) Johnoff. Ken married Linda M. (Dodson) Jonff on October 22, 1977, in Alton, IL.
Besides his wife of 48 years, Ken is survived by a daughter, Angie Moore & husband Orin, of Pocahontas, IL; a son, Paul Jonff & wife Melissa, of Edwardsville, IL; four grandchildren, Nolan Moore, Kaylie Moore, Brooklyn Jonff, and Camden Jonff; a brother, Michael Johnoff & wife Debbie, of Columbia, MO; and a sister, Sharon Gasawski & husband John, of Blue Springs, MO.
Ken was the king of jokes, one-liners, and sarcasm. His humor could spark a laugh or provoke a knowing eye roll, leaving lasting impression on everyone around him. Beyond his wit, Ken had a big heart and a deep devotion to protecting and supporting those he loved.
This care and commitment extended into his thirty-three-year career with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, where he worked tirelessly to safeguard and uplift children and families. Ken’s love, loyalty, and generosity were felt by so many, leaving an indelible mark on friends, family, and colleagues alike.
As an avid sports fan, Ken could be found coaching kids on the ball field or basketball court, or cheering on his grandkids from the stands. He had a love for the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams, Battlehawks, and Edwardsville High School Sports, sharing that excitement with anyone lucky enough to join him.
Though we will miss his laughter, humor, and presence, Ken’s spirit, warmth, and dedication will remain with us always.
