Lester Frank Williams, Sr., loved and cherished as a husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on February 26, 2018 at the age of 83.  Surviving are his wife Carol June, daughters Shirley (Scott) Schneider, Roxanne (Jimmy) Neumann II and son, Lester (Jackie) Williams II.  Also surviving are grandchildren James Neumann III, Jessica Neumann, Jenna Neumann, Aaron Schneider and Mark Schneider along with 2 great grandchildren Waylon Neumann and Dallas Schneider.  Also surviving sister Marie Null, brothers Harold Williams and Melvin Williams.  He was preceded in death by his parents Noah and Margaret Williams, brothers and sisters, Eugene Williams, Bernice Showwalter, Dorothy Young, Kenny Williams, Elmer Williams and Ada Miller.  After many years of service, Lester retired from Owens Illinois Glass Works in Alton. In retirement, he and Carol enjoyed biking, long walks and bird watching.  They also traveled many miles together around the world, with one of their favorite places being New Zealand.  Lester’s greatest joy was the love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Visitation will be at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Upper Alton Friday March 2 from 4-8 with services on Saturday March 3 at 10 AM, interment at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hope Haven of Cass County.
