Linda Foster

Linda Sue Foster, nee Haas, 78, of Belleville, IL, was born January 27, 1948, in Belleville, died Monday, February 9, 2026, at home surrounded by her large support system of family and friends.

Linda was an active, present mom. She worked many jobs over the years, but the jobs she was most proud of was being a mom and Grandma and helping her husband, Butch, run their business.

At the kids’ school, she volunteered at all of the events and was on the school board. When the kids had activities or sports, she was always there and was their biggest cheerleader. She even made sure the kids had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches when they were doing their homework after school. She loved her daughter-in-law and son-in-law as her own. While she, jokingly, had the nickname “The No No Grandma,” most of the time, she spoiled her grandkids rotten and loved every minute of it. If they ever needed anything, they knew they could call Grandma and Grandpa.

For work, she became the face of Clean-rite Cleaning Company and loved talking to the customers when they called. Her and Butch made a great team with her doing all of the scheduling and him doing most of the work. They were the epitome of a family-run business that had life-long customers because of the connection and personal service they got.

Linda was always dressed to impress. She looked amazing and had matching jewelry to go with her fashionable outfits. She was also known for her big smile and bubbly personality.

She had a passion for travel and made it to some great destinations in Europe and the Caribbean, but her and Butch could usually be found in Mexico or Florida when vacationing; she even made it to both to enjoy the beach and warm weather a few more times in the last few months of her life.

Linda’s most special relationship in life, though, was with her husband, Butch. They were married for 55 years and together for 63. They were inseparable and didn’t go much of anywhere without each other and always backed each other up. They made it through all of the ups and downs of life and had a deep love for each other up until the very end. They were grateful for having lived such a great, long life together and knew how blessed they were to have it all.

Linda felt she lived a great life and was happy she was going to meet Jesus. While we knew he thought he was ready for her, we weren’t sure if he knew what he was really getting into. She was also a force to be reckoned with, and even one of her doctors said that she had a powerful voice and had a great way of making people think she was doing better than she was. She was a powerful woman, indeed. She was also a bit stubborn (her daughter promised that would be in her obituary), but it really was her stubborn positivity and optimism that got her through 4 years with ovarian cancer, breast cancer, kidney disease, a rare blood disorder, and bone marrow cancer. She rarely complained and showed all of us how to face adversity with class. She was, after all, one of the classiest women we all had the pleasure of knowing. We will miss her so much and will always strive to follow her example of class and positivity!

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Marcella Haas, nee Meloan; and her brothers, Raymond Haas and John Haas.

Surviving are her husband, Earl “Butch” Foster; sister, Renee Harbison, nee Haas; daughter, Gina Prevett, nee Foster (Tyler); son, Douglas Foster (Stacy); and grandchildren, Ashley and Morgan Foster and James and Josie Prevett.

Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital or to Families Run for Ovarian Cancer in St. Louis. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

There will be a memorial mass scheduled at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in O’Fallon, IL.
