Linda Walter

Linda Ruth Walter, 82, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with her family by her side.

She was born on December 27, 1943, in Dahlgren, IL, the daughter of Clyde R. and Daisy L. (Allen) Walden.

Linda worked in accounting and as a storekeeper at Alton Mental Health Center for many years before her retirement. Linda enjoyed playing games and watching her favorite TV shows, and she had a special fondness for Pepsi. Linda was the most amazing mom and grandma anyone could ask for, and cherished her time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Roger (Andrea) Bartee, Ron (Candace) Bartee, and Cathy (Kevin) Wright; and grandchildren, Katie, Joey, Casey, Brandon, Kannon, Chance, Ethan, Sydney, and Alex. She is also survived by a special niece, friend, and duet partner Rhonda.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Walter, and later David Watts; two brothers, Charles Walden and Randall Walden; and two sisters, Dorothy Wiegand, and Betty Norris.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 11:30 am until time of service at 1 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Phil Warren will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
