Lois Stratmann

Lois J. (Finke) Stratmann, 86, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 4:28 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL. She was born January 8, 1940 in Moro, IL, the daughter of the late Ervin & Esther (Johnson) Finke. She married Bernard H. Stratmann on September 9, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville, IL & he preceded her in death on December 1, 1997.

Lois worked as a Beautician for many years. Initially she worked at Eunice’s Beauty Shop in Staunton, IL. She also worked at Anna Henry Nursing Home in Edwardsville, IL, & finished her working career at Heritage Manor of Staunton (now Staunton Health & Rehab Center), retiring from there in 2019. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, IL, & was active with the Zion Ladies Aid & a member of the Church Choir at Zion. She also volunteered at His Service Station in Staunton, IL.

She is survived by a daughter - Linda (Craig) Niehaus; four grandchildren - Jennifer (Lan) Noel, Christopher (Julie Rausch) Niehaus, Hannah Niehaus, & Matthew Niehaus; three great grandchildren - Lucas Noel, Remi Noel, Landon Hull, & a fourth great grandchild on the way. Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by a brother - Donald Finke; a sister - Sharon (Finke) Reneau; brother-in-law - Harry Reneau; nephew - Ronald Finke; niece - Donna (Finke) Peterson; & a great nephew - Cameron Johnson.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL, with Pastor Phil Girardin officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.
