Lorine Gernon

Lorine "Rene” Gernon passed away at 12:20 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 25, 1948 in Chaffee, MO to Gilbert Earl and Emma Lou (Perdue) Cobb.

She married Dennis L Gernon Nov. 27, 1987 in Hartford IL; he preceded her in death March 23, 2016.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert & Emma Cobb; sisters Patricia Ann Cobb and Anna "Pete” Pratt; brothers, Joseph, David, Dan, and Gerald Cobb; and one infant daughter, Michelle Lynn Barlow.

She is survived by two sons, Allen (Ginny) Barlow of Delta MO. and Bobby Barlow of Alton IL; grandchildren, Courtney (Frank) Rupp of Delta MO, Brady (Brittany) Barlow of Roxana, Dalton (Hanna) Barlow of Advance, MO; great grandchildren that she loved taking care of, McKayla, Meika, Phoenix, Carson, Braylynn and Layla; her siblings, James (Sherry) Cobb, Margret (Bill) Stroup, Bill (Edie) Cobb, and Sheri (Donnie) Nizinski; and also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals Thursday, Feb. 12 from 10:30 a.m. until services begin at 12 p.m.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
