Malcolm Fickle

Malcolm C. Fickle, 68, died at 9:13 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born January 27, 1944 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, he was the son of Wilton C. and Robie J. (Cearley) Fickle. He was a mold maker at Owens Illinois in Alton for 11 years and then an all around Machinist for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Sanford Avenue Baptist Church in Alton and a lifelong member of the N.R.A. On February 16, 1963 in Poteau, Oklahoma, he married the former Arla Roller. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Heather Nicholson and her husband Jimmy of Godfrey, a son, Blake Fickle and his wife Burket of Godfrey, six grandchildren, Jeremy Simpson and his fiancé Lindsay Stephen, Jacob Fickle, Jason Nicholson, Hayley Nicholson, Richard Fickle, and Alexis Fickle, four great grandchildren, Erieanna, Wyatt, Max, and Myles, and one brother, Wayne T. Fickle Sr., of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stanley R. Fickle, and an infant sister. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012. Pastor Dan Bowers will officiate.
