Margaret Wisnasky

Margaret Mary “Marge” Wisnasky, 90, passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2026, at 11:25 am, surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret was born on October 18, 1935, to Bert and Elizabeth (Nolan) Funk.

She graduated Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, Illinois, in 1954. While attending Marquette, she met the love of her life, Ron Wisnasky, and the two were married on November 24, 1956.

Margaret is survived by two children, Donna (Jim) Schwartzkopf of Dorsey and Ron (Pennie) Wisnasky of Godfrey; 5 grandchildren, Monica (Nick) Fischer, Laura Manns, Ashley (Brian Brinson) Wisnasky, Nicki (Dalton) Morgan, and Ronnie (Taylor) Wisnasky; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Weidman of Godfrey, IL and Joan (Alan) Brown of Chesterfield, Missouri.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers; Mary Lard, Bert Roberts, Patricia Funk, Robert Funk, Donald Funk, and Jim Funk Nolan.

To know Margaret was to love her. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family during Tuesday dinners, summers at Otter Lake, and witnessing the many blessings in their lives, all while sharing those moments with her beloved husband, Ron. As a devoted Catholic, she embodied her faith through her love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She loved her family fiercely and took pride in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

A private family visitation will be held at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 9:30 am. Following the private visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, at 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, Il. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey, IL. A luncheon will follow for family and friends at the St. Ambrose Community Center.

Memorials are suggested to Marquette Catholic High School or St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
