Marie Herzog  - Wood River

Marie Elizabeth Herzog, 93, passed away 8:57 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at VIP Manor.

Born in Omega, MN on February 17, 1921, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Bunge) Wildgrube.

She had been a housemother for the Lutheran Children's Home in Des Peres, MO, and enjoyed quilting and family outings.

On August 11, 1945 in Carthage, MO, she married Arthur Otto Herzog.  He died May 26, 2002.

Surviving are two sons, Rev. John (Marlane) Herzog of Chesterfield Twp., MI, Larry (Lourdes) Herzog of Bensonville, IL; two daughters, Martha Green of Wood River, Mary (Robert) Paulson of Bartlett, IL; and nine grandchildren.

Her parents; husband; and four sisters, her twin, Martha wildgrube, Edna Cooperrider, Leah Wildgrube and Meta Wildgrube preceded in death.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River and will be followed by an informal devotion delivered by Rev. John Herzog.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, MO at a later date.
