Mark Edwards

Mark J. Edwards, 49, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at his mother’s home.

Born September 3, 1960 in Alton, he was the son of Ruth (O’Neal) Parkes of Alton and James Edwards of Wood River. He married Michelle Briggs. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Amy Frechette and husband Odie of Texas, Kaci Edwards of Texas, Kristen and Niki Edwards of Wood River, three grandchildren, Natalee, Jakob and Zacari Frechette, two brothers, Jim Edwards of East Alton and Tim Edwards of San Antonio, TX and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a special sister, Sheryl Piening. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
