Mark McCormick

Mark Edward McCormick, 69, died at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. 

He was born May 24, 1956 in Wood River, IL the son of the late Charles Jackson and Ada Mae (Robinette) McCormick. He retired from US Steel in 2021, after 43 years of service.

On July 25, 1992 in Alton, he married Cheryl Lynn Teutrine, and she survives. 

Also surviving are one daughter, Annie Beth McCormick of Carbondale, IL, one son, Sam McCormick of St. Louis, MO, one sister, Sharon Swiney (Allen) of Palm Bay, FL one brother, Scott McCormick (Joni) of Alton, two sisters in law, Gayle Lindsay of Granite City, Donna McCormick of Godfrey, brother and sister in law, Jon and Stacey Teutrine, his father and mother in law, Don and Pat Teutrine and  many nieces and nephews.   

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom, Larry and Rick McCormick and one nephew, Derek McCormick.   

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. 

Burial will be private. 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Annie McCormick, SIU Carbondale.
