
Marsha Lynn Willeford, 73 of Bethalto, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 6:17 p.m. Wed., Jan. 7, 2026 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 22, 1952 in Wood River, IL. Marsha was the daughter of the late George Sisler & Nellie Gertrude (Thaxon) Moore.
Marsha & Lester “Lumpy” Willeford were married on Nov. 18, 1969 in Roxana. He passed away on Jan. 17, 1991.
Marsha was employed as a Clerk at the Catholic Children’s Home in Alton for several years. She then worked as a Clerk for the Madison County Clerk in Edwardsville. After years of service, she retired in 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Malissa (Willeford) Cox of Brighton, Danielle Sneed & Aaron of Godfrey; one son, Craig Lester Willeford of Pontoon Beach; six grandchildren, Lauren Kaschner & Tyler of Las Vegas, NV, Lane Cox of Brighton, Addison Sneed of Godfrey, Ella Sneed of Godfrey, Kirsten Kent & Austin of Rosewood Heights, Samantha Willeford of Pontoon Beach; three great-grandchildren, Charlie Kaschner, Lily Kaschner, Charlie Kent; one sister, Carolyn L. Powers & John of Crown Point, IN; one brother, David S. Moore & Susie of Wentzville, MO.
Besides her husband & parents, Marsha was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Pfeiffer, Mary Pat Davis.
Marsha was a coffee lover. It was a very important part of her day. She loved reading the Bible & attending church. She enjoyed “bowling”, but her favorite thing was when she spent time with her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren that was the greatest joy for her.
A celebration of Marsha’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Fri., Jan. 16, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Cottage Hills. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Battles Officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Garden’s in Bethalto.
Memorials have been designated to the First Baptist Church of Cottage Hills at 200 N. Williams St., Cottage Hills, IL 62018.
Marsha will be so sadly missed.
