Matthew Novaria

Matthew John Novaria, 55, of Belleville, IL, born on Monday, June 21, 1971, in Belleville, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at his residence in Swansea, IL.

Matt was accepted into the U.S. Navy and was going to attend school in Florida for training on nuclear atomic submarines. Unfortunately, he changed his mind and decided to go on the Grateful Dead tour instead.

He loved people and music and everything that came with it. He was an avid coin collector and loved to go to coin shows and was a member of American Numismatic Association which was his passion and loved flea markets. There were many ups and downs but Matt survived them and enjoyed life to the fullest.

• Sister-In-Law: Dina Novaria of St. Louis, MO
• Many cousins and family from the Dead Tour and Rainbow family gatherings.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
