Michael Doles

Michael Newton Doles, 79, passed away June 6, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born November 18, 1946 in Alton, he was the son of Noble Johnson and Mary Elizabeth (White) Doles.

A U.S. Army veteran, he had been employed for 20 years at Owens-IL Glass and then worked another 20 years at St. Louis Regional Airport. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his companion of several years, Linda House of Rosewood Heights; daughter, Melissa Doles of Wood River; and brother, Patrick (Paula) Doles of Rosewood Heights.

Visitation will be from 1 pm until time of service at 4 pm, Sunday, June 14 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Timothy Keller will officiate.

Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, June 17.

Memorials are suggested to Hilltop Assembly of God Church in Wood River.
