Michael Bloemker

Michael (Mike) Eugene Bloemker, 68, of Alton passed away December 23, 2016. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Frazier and Sylvester (Bud) Bloemker. His only child, Brian Bloemker (from his first marriage) along with his second wife, Patricia Carrall Bloemker. Mike leaves behind his sister and caregiver, Mary Fox, with whom he has lived with for years. He also leaves behind his three grandchildren, Kayden and Peyton Bloemker along with Kaley Beckman. Surviving are his first wife, Dawn Whalen, his step daughter, Liza Beckham, his stepchildren from his second marriage, Heather Adams and Paul Dowdy. Mike is also survived by two Aunts, Evelyn Cruthis and Delores Banks, two nieces, Kelly and Lisa McCormick, two nephews, Derrick and Kevin McCormick, along with cousins, Joe Ruyle, Steve and Alan Cruthis. Mike was a Vietnam Veteran. He was also a retiree of Olin Winchester. He was a caring generous person who loved to cook. Everyone enjoyed his meals. Visitation for Mike will be held at Gent Funeral Home in Alton on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
