Michael Wright

Michael “Mike” R. Wright, 65, of Wood River, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Christian Northeast Hospital.

He was born in Alton, IL on January 1, 1955 the son of Ray D. and Alberta M. (Hollingsworth) Wright. 

Mike was employed as a Union Tile Setter for Local 18.  He loved to ride his Harley and his Stallion motorcycles.  Mike also loved to go fishing and camping at his camper at Lazy Day’s Camp Ground.

He is survived by his mother, Alberta of Meadowbrook; his children, Wendi Birdsong of Wood River, Mike Wright of Kansas City, and Stormi Wright of Wood River; two sisters, Linda (Robert) Edelen of Wood River and Candy (Jim) Winfree of Meadowbrook; five grandchildren, Austin, Sami, A.J., Drew and Raegan.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Ray.

Visitation and funeral services will be private, officiated by Pastor Curtis Sweeney.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.  Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is in charge of arrangements.
