Nancy Horman

Surrounded by the love of her family, Nancy (Gibson) Horman, of Hardin, peacefully passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 67. A devoted wife, mother, Memaw, sister, and friend, Nancy touched countless lives with her kindness, humor, and unwavering love.

Nancy was born on April 25, 1958, to Russell and Betty Gibson. On August 28, 1976, she married the love of her life, James Horman Sr., and together they built a beautiful life and raised three children — who were the pride of her heart.

Nancy’s greatest joy came later in life when she became “Memaw” to her four beloved grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, from holiday traditions and special outings to the simple joy of hugs, laughter, and hearing them call her name. Being there Memaw was not just a title; it was her greatest honor and life’s happiest role.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; Jim’s parents, Bill and Daisy Horman; her brother- and sister-in-law, Dave and Barb Bick; her brothers-in-law, Ronnie Meyer and Jerry Rose; her special niece, Missy “Moe” Bick; and her special cousin, Gina Huber.

She will be remembered for her boundless love, her kindness, her sharp wit, and the way she made every person feel special and cared for.

Nancy leaves behind her loving husband; her children, Mindy (Chris) DeClue of Bethalto, Sandy (Darren) Kulp of Brussels, and Jimmy (Lauren) Horman of Bethalto; her four treasured grandchildren, Christopher DeClue Jr. (fiancée Katie Wickenhauser), Emily DeClue, Anna Kulp, and Hadley Horman; her brothers, John Gibson (Crystal) and Justin Gibson (Tammy); and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply but carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gress, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin. The funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin. Burial will follow at St. Norbert Cemetery in Hardin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calhoun Ambulance, St. Mary School in Brussels, or family’s choice.
