Norma Evans

Norma L. Evans, 79, went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Born on August 18, 1933 to John and Amanda (Liefer) Dorsey. She married George Evans at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alton on September 8, 1951. She retired from Gouldings Jewelry Store. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children; Sandra (Curt) Bagwill of Godfrey, John (Libby) Evans of Helotes, TX, and Nancy (Rich) Ballard of Godfrey, nine grandchildren; Mike (Alex) Bagwill, David (Angie) Bagwill, Kevin (Abby) Bagwill, John, Chris, Ryan, and Katie Evans, Shannon (Richard) French, and James Ballard, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gilbert, Merlin, and Ralph Dorsey. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey. Reverend Kenneth Tegtmeier will officiate.
