Otis Holt

Otis Joe Holt, 84 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

Otis was born on November 12, 1933 in Blytheville, Arkansas; the son of the late Herschel and Annabell (Underwood) Holt. Otis was a self employed scrap metal collector and recycler and was of Baptist faith. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Otis will be remembered for the love of his family and all the special times they shared together.

Otis is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Bernadine (Coerver) Holt, whom he married in October of 1981; his children, Karen Garcia of Pennsylvania, Anita Gaines of Kansas, Waylon Holt of Kansas, Judy Gibson of Granite City; brother-in-law, Bobby (Adriana) Copeland; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other close family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.

In celebration of Otis’s life, services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Charles West officiating.

Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
