Pauline Brass

Pauline F. Brass, 96, passed away on October 5, 2026, at Alton Memorial Hospital with family by her side.

Pauline was born on December 14, 1929 in East Alton, IL, to WM and Emma (Roderfeld) Wunderlich

She married the love of her life Joseph A. Brass on August 6, 1955 in West Alton, MO. He preceded her in death.

She was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Alton, MO. She currently attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, IL. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and enjoyed taking care of her family members when in need. She was a proud member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children Anthony Brass, Andrew (Sherry) Brass, Christine (Mark) Williams, Albert Brass, Michael (Jane) Brass, Anne (Darin) Hamm, WM “Bill” (Karen) Brass, and  Patrick “P.J” (Tina) Brass; grandchildren, Luke (Betsey), Katelyn (Mike), Ben (Lindsay), Austin (Anna), C.J., Bryson, Dylan, Nick, Kaleb (Leah), Wyatt (Brooke), Allene, Ellanour (Daniel), Amos, Clara; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Rozalyn, Angelica, Bycen, Walker, Quinn, Ella, Coles, Maddie, and Ethan.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, and siblings, Lillian Hunn, Wynona Beckham, Eileen Hayes, John Wunderlich, Kenny Wunderlich, Charles Wunderlich, Laura Bechtold, Helen Mulholland, Thomas Wunderlich, Victor Wunderlich, Catherine Kruger, and Lawrence Wunderlich.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, IL.

Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in West Alton, MO.

Memorials can be made to Marquette Catholic High School or Meals on Wheels.
