Pauline Newcome

Pauline Mae Newcome, 81, died at 2:25 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at her home in Godfrey.  Born July 13, 1929 in Alton, she was the daughter of John M. and Martha Mae (Bennett) Young.  She was a member of the VFW Post 1308 Ladies Auxiliary. 

On April 16, 1949 in Alton, she married Donald Newcome.  He survives.  Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Noreen and Michael Newby of Godfrey and Kaye and Greg Edsall of Alton, one son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Janet Newcome of Chesterfield, MO, eight grandchildren, Heather, Bond, Jacob, Tara, C.J., Seth, Zachary, and Bailey and two great grandchildren, Gage and Ava.  She was preceded in death by her parents a brother, John E. Young and her twin brother, Paul F. Young. 

Per her wishes, private graveside services will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Reverend Tom Asbury will officiate. 

Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team.
