Peggy Brefeld

Peggy Jean Guarino Brefeld, 63, passed away 7:50 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2017.

Born in Alton on October 7, 1953, she was the daughter of Sam and Sally (Moore) Guarino of East Alton.

After graduating from Texas State University, she became a Registered Dietician for the State of Illinois in the W.I.C. department.  Peggy enjoyed fishing, gardening and family.

She married John B. Brefeld.  He survives.

Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are a step-son, Zachary Brefeld of Edwardsville; two sisters, Betsy (Scott) Williams, Paula Guarino all of Wood River; two nieces, Stepahne Dizmang and Rachel Williams.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Charles and Louise Moore, John and Antoinette Guarino; and brother, John Guarino.

A Celebration of Life Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
