Raymond Dallas Elfgen 87, of Grafton, Illinois passed away at 4:11pm on October 3, 2025 in Alton, IL.

Dallas was born in Dow, IL on June 22, 1938. He was the son of Joseph and Ann Marie Elfgen.

After graduating from Alton High School, Dallas proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Dallas served in the Korean War. He came home and started a career in the Auto body business, quickly making a name for himself around the Riverbend area. You could always find Dallas on a Friday and Saturday night in the stands of the stock car races. When he wasn't at the races he was at the local auctions buying goodies that he thought he may need in the future. Dallas was employed at Junk Brothers Salvage for Fred Dublo, whom he thought of like a son.

Surviving is a Son, James Romano of Wisconsin, Daughters; Carmen and Brenda Elfgen of Wood River, and Kasey Robinson of Grafton, IL. Bonus Daughter Deana Murch of Wisconsin. Grandchildren Katey Spangler of Maryville IL, Jasmine Finley of Grafton IL, Hope Carter of Wood River IL, Chad Romano of Wisconsin, Great-Grandson Gerald Spangler of Maryville IL, and Uncle James Depper of Grafton IL.

Dallas was proceeded in death by his father Joe Elfgen and mother and stepfather Ann Marie and Orville Hoelscher. Sons: Joseph Romano Brighton IL and Robert Elfgen of Wood River Illinois. Granddaughter: Jessica Romano Godfrey Illinois, and brother Malcolm Elfgen of Arkansas.

No services at this time. A celebration of life will be held Friday October 10th at the Ranch House Bar at 6pm.
