Raymond Taggart

Raymond Frank Taggart, 72, of Gillespie, IL, died at St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, IL on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 11:06 am.

He was born October 22, 1952, in San Diego, CA to Raymond S.Taggart & Calista Kohler Taggart. He married Elizabeth Wallen Taggart on April 10, 1975 in Otto, MO.

He was retired after having been a secondary education teacher. He was also a former lab technologist, EMT and over the road truck driver. Raymond was a veteran after having served with the US Marines.

He is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth Taggart of Gillespie, IL, daughter, Danielle (Thomas) Campbell of Staunton, IL, grandchild, Thomas Campbell, III. Raymond is also survived by grandchildren, Noah Taggart, Laynee Taggart, Jacob Taggart and their mother Jaqlyn, sister, Calista (Robert) Kelley of Amarillo, TX, brother, Noel (Ellen) Taggart of Hayden, ID.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, son, Raymond G. Taggart, brother and sister in law, Dennis & Charlene Murphy, sisters, Patricia Murphy, Mona Ridgaway, sister and brother in law, Selma & Ivan Richards.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Gillespie Civic Center. Memorials are suggested to wishes of the family of Elizabeth Taggart.
