Richard Farrell

Richard J. “Dick” Farrell, age 90, of Edwardsville, Illinois, died at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon. Dick worked as a highway construction supervisor for 36 years retiring in 1986. He was born January 29, 1927, in Humbolt, Illinois the son of the late Chester & Mary (Hill) Farrell. He married Anna “Ann” Bratten on January 26, 1951, in Edwardsville. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2015. Dick is survived by 1 son, Kenneth “Ken” Farrell & wife Ruth of Maryland Heights, Missouri; 2 grandsons, Micheal Farrell & wife Gina of Ballwin, Missouri and Edward Farrell of Maryland Heights; and a great grandson, Vincenzo Farrell. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville. He was a Veteran of the U.S Army serving during World War II; a member of American Legion Post 199; A Shriner with the Ainad Temple; the Edwardsville Masonic Lodge; and the Caledonia Masonic Lodge in Anna, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. John Hembruch officiating. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Richard J.
