Richard J. “Dick” Farrell, age 90, of Edwardsville, Illinois, died at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon. Dick worked as a highway construction supervisor for 36 years retiring in 1986. He was born January 29, 1927, in Humbolt, Illinois the son of the late Chester & Mary (Hill) Farrell. He married Anna “Ann” Bratten on January 26, 1951, in Edwardsville. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2015. Dick is survived by 1 son, Kenneth “Ken” Farrell & wife Ruth of Maryland Heights, Missouri; 2 grandsons, Micheal Farrell & wife Gina of Ballwin, Missouri and Edward Farrell of Maryland Heights; and a great grandson, Vincenzo Farrell. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville. He was a Veteran of the U.S Army serving during World War II; a member of American Legion Post 199; A Shriner with the Ainad Temple; the Edwardsville Masonic Lodge; and the Caledonia Masonic Lodge in Anna, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev.
