Richard M. "Dick" Hardesty, Jr., 56, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 at his home.
Born Apr. 8, 1962 in Alton, he was a son of Richard Melvin Hardesty, Sr. and Inez (Lansdon) Hardesty.
Dick was a semi-retired truck driver for Lucky Trading in St. Louis. He was an avid sports fan, in particular the New York Yankees. He was most proud of being the softball coach of the Headhunters.
Survivors include his better-looking brother, Darrell Hardesty of South Roxana; his half-brother, Darren Kuhn of Texas; his uncle Terry Hardesty of Wood River; uncle and aunt Larry and Connie Lansdon; aunts Wanda, Judy, Karen and Tina; cousin Casey; and the man Dick raised and considered his stepson, Kenny Stradtmann; nieces, nephews, and other extended family who will miss him.
Memorial visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.
