Robert Bosomworth

Robert Eugene Bosomworth, 87, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at his home in Alton, IL with his friends by his side.  

He was born on September 20, 1938 in Shipman, IL to Alfred  and Verna (Wood) Bosomworth.

Robert married Dianna Campbell on May 7, 1970 in Alton and she preceded him in death on May 16, 2019.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked for many years at Owens-Illinois. Robert was proud to have worked as a custodian of the Alton School District. He will be deeply missed by his friends.

Robert is survived by several children and their spouses, Robin (Carlson) Bosomworth of Edwardsville, Jim (Jody) Bosomworth, Pam (Hopper) Bosomworth of S. Roxana, and Mike Bosomworth of Oneida; brother,  Edward Bosomworth of Shipman; a nephew, Jamie Nance of Godfrey; nieces, Vicki Fleming, and Carol Mundy; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents; he is preceded in death by a son, Patrick Bosomworth; sisters, Dorothy Straube, and Doris Freytag; and brother, Clarence Bosomworth.

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home of Godfrey has assisted the family with arrangements.

Robert will be buried at Upper Alton Cemetery where a private gathering will take place.
