
Robert Wayne Clark, 90, of Swansea, IL, born May 18, 1935, in Laddonia, MO, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by family.
Wayne was a United States Air Force veteran and received his Ph.D. in education from Saint Louis University and his undergraduate degree in education from the University of Missouri. He worked as an administrator for Southwestern Illinois College before his retirement. He was also a member of Freeburg Community Bible Church. Wayne enjoyed his daily crossword puzzles, fishing, woodworking, making his famous “Wayne Burgers”, and sitting in his easy chair with his dog, Sugar Pie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Clark; his mother, Garnett, nee Staten, Byars; his step-father, Marvin Byars; and his sister, Betty Jo (Steve) Hirschmugl.
Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years, Jeanne Clark, nee Kirchman, whom he married on December 20, 1983; five children, Julie (Jim) Morse, Karen (Mark) Sherman, Michael (Monique) Baltz, Lori (Kelly) Sandheinrich, and Thomas Baltz; six grandchildren, Megan (Tyler) Kleinschmidt, Sophia (Dylan) Stewart, Grant Morse, Hannah (Tannor) Kraus, Sarah (Drew) Treat, and James Baltz; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Bodhi Kleinschmidt.
