Robert Haas

Robert “Bob” Edwin Haas, of Belleville, IL, born April 19, 1937, in Mascoutah, IL, died Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Bob was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. He retired from the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, Belleville News-Democrat, and Bergheger Agency.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Haas Sr. and Anna nee Hushcler, Haas; his siblings, Theodore Haas (Lou) Jr., Marie Sins, and Bernard (Doris) Haas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marlene M. Haas, nee Wilken, whom he married on March 28, 1967; two children, Kimberly (Henry) Weilmuenster and Scott (Teresa) Haas; four grandchildren, Bradly (Rachel) Weilmuenster, Blake Weilmuenster, Breanna Haas and Brooke Haas; with one great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday December 20, 2024, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with military honors to follow.

Burial will be held at a later date.
