Rodger A. Radcliff Sr., age 69, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Christian North East Hospital with his family by his side.He was born August 17, 1945, in Alton, the son of Allen and Lavonne (Jones) Radcliff. He married Darlene Hamby on February 2, 1967, in Alton, and she survives.Rodger graduated from the University of Illinois. He had worked for the Calhoun Co. Sheriff’s Dept. as a Deputy Sheriff. Rodger retired from Wood River Hospital where he had been Chief of Security for over 15 years. He liked guns, and antiquing, and was a collector of “scary” memorabilia. Rodger’s greatest love was spending time with his family.In addition to his wife, Darlene; he is survived by four children and their spouses, Rodger and Connie Radcliff Jr. of Alton, Elizabeth Radcliff and Chad Gould of Elsah, Lisa and Tim Baalman of Hardin, and Britt and Julie Radcliff of Godfrey; one sister; seven brothers; seven grandchildren, Jessica Radcliff, Rodger Radcliff III, Gus, Sam, and Olivia Baalman, Claire Gould, and Maya Radcliff; and many other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents.Cremation rites will be accorded.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is in charge of arrangements.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
