Ronald Griffin

Ronald Dee "Ronnie" Griffin, 56 of Bethalto, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 7:56PM, at his home with his loved ones by his side.

He was born on November 17, 1962 in Alton, IL, the son of Hershal and Rita (Beiermann) Griffin.  On November 8, 1998, Ron married Debra K. Bechtold in East Alton, Illinois.

Ron loved dirt track racing, woodworking, and wrestling.  He never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by four children, Amanda (Joshua) Bond of Phoenix, Arizona, Mark Griffin of Phoenix, Arizona, Corey Bechtold of Bethalto, Illinois, Christopher (Paula) Bechtold of Collinsville, Illinois;  nine grandsons whom he loved dearly, Grayson and Oliver Bond, Peyton, Sean and Lucas Bechtold, Josiah Krauss, Cayden Krauss, Josh Krauss, and Dominick Ford ; three sisters, Debbie (Tom) Griffin of Baytown, Kathie (Mike) Brooks of Bethalto, Illinois, Melann (Chris) Ray of Godfrey, Illinois; two brothers Bert (Cindy) Griffin of Bethalto, Illinois and John (Mary) Griffin of Homestead, Florida; One brother-in-law, Troy (Franny) Smith of Brighton, Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Michelle (John) Tapscott of Chesterfield, Illinois, Misty (Kurtis) Hawkins of Wood River, Illinois and Tammy Reeder of Bunker Hill, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Ryan and Melissa Krauss.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
