
Rose Summers, 57, of Jerseyville, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Born on March 8, 1969, in Jerseyville, Rose attended Jersey Community School District 100. She became a dietary aide for many years before her health declined. She never met a stranger and built many friendships throughout her life.
She loved being outdoors, crafting, and thrifting. She shared her daily life with her two beloved dogs Brute and Lucy.
Her two children were pure gold. She loved them deeply and was immensely proud of each of them. The arrival of her granddaughter, Everleigh, brought another special kind of joy to her life. Rose loved being a grandma more than anything.
She is survived by her mother, Lula Meyer of Jerseyville; a son, Chris Summers and partner Kara VanGiesen of Danville, a son and daughter-in-law, James and Melissa Summers of Jerseyville, and a granddaughter, Everleigh Summers of Jerseyville. Rose is also survived by many siblings. Brothers, Charley (Karen Summers) of

Dale (Pam) Summers of Jerseyville, Willie (Kim) Summers of White Hall, and Jody Pollard of Roodhouse; Sisters, Kathy Summers of Alton, Paula Summers of Roodhouse, and Connie Preston of Deltona, Florida; Step-brother James Crowe of Grafton and step-sister Lori Crowe (Doug Smith) of Jerseyville.
She is preceded in death by her father John Summers.
Rose’s sudden passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew Her.
