
Rosemary Richey, 92, died at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Jerseyville Manor.
She was born October 15, 1933 in Grafton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Leonard and Ada (Redd) Richey. Rosemary was frequently recognized for her creative sewing ability and also worked as a nurse’s aide with the Ursuline Infirmary for many years.
After her retirement, Rosemary devoted many years (2007-2023), to volunteering and helping with the expansion of the Grafton Visitor’s Center & Museum. She possessed an exceptional knowledge of the history of Grafton and delighted in sharing this information with the thousands of national and international visitors who passed through the center. She greeted each and every person with a warm smile and friendly hello. She was also a proud member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church Altar Society and treasured many special friendships.
She is survived by and will be sorely missed by many first and second cousins, including Jennifer (Molloy) and Stephen Ridings of Alton, IL; Emily Freeman and Bobby Trnavsky of Akron, OH; Abby and Spencer Bosoluke of Bozeman, MT, as well as their son, Owen Bosoluke; Katie (Barone) and Bud Lemley of Independence, KY; Donna (Redd) and Richard Blasing of Glenn Allen, VA.
She was preceded in death by Barbara (Redd/Molloy); Michael Molloy, Sr.; Michael Molloy, Jr; Michelle Molloy; and Melissa Molloy.
A mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grafton, followed by burial at Scenic Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children-St. Louis; Marquette Catholic School; or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grafton.
