Sally Ann Hoefert, 85, passed away at 11:10 pm Sunday, November 15, 2015 with her family by her side.

She was born on November 6, 1930 in Alton, the daughter of Phillip & Viola (Joehl) Kennedy.

Sally married Harold T. Hoefert on October 11, 1952 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Alton.  He preceded her in death on September 18, 1981.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton; a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society and graduated from Marquette Catholic High School.  She also loved to play cards and was involved with numerous card clubs.

Sally is survived by seven children, Phil (Kathy) Hoefert, Susan (Steve) Henderson, Cathy (Rick) Foelsch, Connie (Matt) Holden, Mary (Henry) Siemer, Mark (Dena) Hoefert, and Joanne “Bugsy” (Chris) Wickenhauser;  seventeen grandchildren, Katrina (Paul) Yemm, Phillip (Katie), Jennifer, Stephanie, Anne, Abby, John, Michael, and Daniel Hoefert, Laurie (Adam) Selkowitz, Matthew (Katelyn) Baahlmann, Jill Baahlmann (Fiancé, Johnie Schoonover), Emily Holden, Hannah, Sarah, and Audrey Siemer and Dean Hoefert; three great grandchildren, Christopher, Lily and Noah; two sisters-in-law, Voni Hoefert and Gerry Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Thursday, November 19, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marquette Catholic High School and the American Cancer Society.
