Sharon Saul

Sharon L. Saul, nee Jones, 88, of Cahokia, IL, born December 31, 1937, in Ashley, IL, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at St. Paul’s Senior Community, Belleville, IL, with family at her side.

Sharon was a devoted wife to Del for nearly 50 years. She was a loving mother whose heart was always centered on her family. She was a dedicated, family-oriented host who took joy in planning, cooking, and bringing people together. Her home served as the heart of the family’s holiday celebrations.

Sharon was a dedicated dog lover and found great joy in the companionship of her many poodles over the years. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, and collecting bells from every place she visited. Above all, her greatest pride and joy was being “Grandma” to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. This was a role she cherished deeply and fulfilled with endless love.

Sharon was preceded in death by a son, David Sensel; a daughter, Lisa Sensel-Sanford; and her parents, Raymond and Helen, nee Williams, Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Delmar Saul, whom she married October 22, 1976; two daughters, Vickie Crowell and Debbie (Keith) Butts; two step-sons, Dwayne (Vicki) Saul and Dan Saul (fiancée, Sandy); six grandchildren, Michele Crandell, Brian Shannahan, David Crandell, Andrew Birney, Nickolaus Sanford, and Jordyn Gamble; 12 great-grandchildren, Kyla and Kyle Riley, Blake Shannahan, Nora and Ian Crandell, Emily and Hailey Feil, Lacy and Aury Birney, Troy and Theo Sanford, and Easton Reese; and four great-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Jace Macon, Ivy Smith, and Ellie Peralta.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Vance Vyers officiating.

Graveside services and burial will be at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Ashley Cemetery, Ashley, IL.
